T-DOT UP & COMING
By: Ayla Gainy

Innovative, and creative are two ways that can be used to describe this up and coming Scarborough rapper. Chubb Roc's EP "SYNDROME" consists of many tracks produced by Scarborough producers Quake and J-Yves . The combination of sick beats and an ill flow makes this EP a pandemic. Chubb Roc has been fortunate enough to perform at a few Toronto events including "Summer Splash In The City" and a fundraiser for Breast Cancer.

This local Talent has been perfecting his flow since he discovered his ill flow when he was fourteen. At the tender age of fourteen, Chubb Roc started beatboxing and despite family request to be quiet he continued perfecting his craft. This EP shows Chubb Rocc is here and eager to show the world what
he can.

Ayla: HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOU MUSIC?
Chubb: My music is different from a lot of the other rappers that has been rapping before me and now is very unique. People ask can you compare my style with any other rapper? I hope not i want to have my own style my own flow and control of my music and how I present it to the public.

Ayla: WHAT MAKES YOU DIFFERENT FROM ALL RAPPERS?
Chubb: My flow, style, creatativeness and I put my heart and soul to all my music also my personality, i have heard alot of other artist and the way they showcase work ethics in the music industry is different also a good thing I like to go outside my box meaning what I hear and what goes on in my head and how I format my craft is not and ordinary way other artist would do things.

Ayla: WHEN DID YOU STARTSPITTING?
Chubb: It all started at the age of 14 in my Mom's kitchen while Im washing dishes, Im rapping and beatboxing just having fun with words and making lines after lines, people in my family will be telling me to be quiet but I didn't listen to them, ever since then I have been working on my craft to sound better every day.

Ayla: WHAT GOALS DO YOU HAVE FOR YOURSELF?
Chubb: My goals in life is to be in a business and own my own low-cost studio so other people with serious talent can come and showcase their rhymes, also trying to finish school and have a degree and be an apprentice in the automotive industry.

Ayla: HAVE YOU BEEN ABLE TO ACCOMPLISH SOME OF THE THINGS YOU SET OUT TO DO?
Chubb:YES! I have always wanted to perform on stage and also to be herd by who love music, I got to perform at the "SUMMER SPLASH IN THE CITY' event that happend in july 18th and also did another one for a breast cancer event I have been tryin to work hard trying to do anything to be heard.

Ayla: WHICH ARTIST WOULD YOU LOVE TO FLOW WITH?
Chubb: I would love to flow with other Toronto artist like PAGE, DRAKE, P.REIGN, A-GAME and any up in coming Toronto artist I aslo want to work with KARDINAL OFFISHALL. I also want to work with JAY Z , CHUBB-ROCK (THE ORGINAL),KID-CUDDI, if possible I would like to work with every artist.

Ayla: A LOT OF PEOPLE SAY HIP-HOP IS DEAD WHAT IS YOUR VIEW ON THAT?
Chubb: I think hip-hop is not dead its trying to find where its going and how its going to effect the world
today hip-hop is a form of poetry and how to make your voice heard in the world and any other point of views that you want to get across, we as artist need to make that feel good music so people can smile and get up and dance and dont have to worry bout the lyrics.

Ayla: WHATS YOUR FAVOURITE TRACK THAT YOU HAVE DONE?
Chubb:My favourite tracks are "DO YOU RIGHT" and "DROP THAT" ,THE BEST wihch is of the EP
"THE SYNROME" Quake produced most of the tracks including "drop that" and "the best" and worte that track featuring me(chubb-roc) on it and JERZEY produced "do you right " these are my favourite tracks that i have done.

Ayla: WHO INSPIERD YOU TO RAP?
Chubb:I was inspierd by the great Chubb-Rock the original I was introduced to that artist by my friend
Franz who also gave me the name Chubb-Roc the new day and age version and also Biggie and
Tupac' legacy gave motivation to rap. They paved the way for other great artists.
My dad supports me and told me to live my dream and never give up and do what you love.
