Ayla: How did get the name Dep and does it have any important significance to your life?
Dep: its funny how i got that name cause its totally different from what im doing now. when i was younger me and my friends were making trouble a lot like running from cops and cops harassing us for stuff we did, and i would always be the one telling the cops what they could or couldn't do to us, lol the cops hated me for that. I was like a mini lawyer, so my friends would call me deputy, and then over the years people chopped it down to Dep.

Ayla: What instruments can you play? and What is your favourite?
Dep: i can play a few instruments actually ive been playing the drums since i was 6 years old,i play the piano, and i play a little bit of trombone. I can also read music which a lot of artist today can't do, i think thats what makes me different from other artist im a musician. But my favorite is playing the drums though before im a rapper before i'm anything im a drummer when i get on those drums its a wrap i just go into a zone i don't see anyone or hear anything.

Ayla: Out of all the places you have lived which do u draw most your lyrical inspiration?
Dep: Damn i've lived so many places i've taken so many things from different areas. But i would have to say where i am now in youngstown i been here for about year and a half and the poverty and crime is so much in your face out here it made me appreciate all things i had back in toronto and the life i live out there. Makes me wanna make my music more postive now, like make people happy when they hear my music whether im speaking about positive or negative stuff at the end of the song i want people to feel good and relate to it.

Ayla: What artist(s) would you like to work with?
Dep: Ok ye this is actually easy cause there is people i have to work with before my life is over, producers would be, ryan leslie, kanye west, rick rubin,cool n dre,trick stewart. artists would be first is dmx,50 cent,jay z,lil wayne, styles p,jae millz, the dream,rkelly there is more but that is all i can think of rite now.

Ayla: What would you like to accomplish with your music career?
Dep: music is like a hobby to me its something that i do for fun,its just make me happy and gets me ready for anything im about to face in my life. So im happy if the world recognize me as a good song writer and that i make great music. If i get that ill be happy all the other things that come with music are good but if the people aren't feeling what i'm doing then the other stuff don't matter.

Ayla: Since both your parents are musically talented, do you feel more pressure to perfect your music?
Dep: You know what i actually do but only from my dad, i've basicly followed in all my dad footsteps in music and football so what i ever i come up with its has to be organic and different or my dad will look at me like whatever anyone could do that.lol.

Ayla: What can we expect next from Dep?
Dep: In the next year you guys can expect a mixtape in 2010, and another 2 single from me over the next year i want to give everybody a good three songs that a are slight different just to show the range of my talent. and also a music video for my song "Put You On" with a big name feature on it which i am not going to say yet because i dont want to ruin the surprise.
